Theme of the month May June

Magic Library is my new topic here. What can you find in a magical library? Books! Logical! But not only books are archived in my library, but it is also inhabited by other magical things.

It starts with a roombox:

This box will also be available in the shop soon. This time it is made of MDF even more stable, so that the second box and possibly. Another attic can be stacked on top.

This time I engraved the floor right away. I will paint the tiles later in black/white.

The structure of the box is very simple. The rear wall is plugged in and the side walls are plugged in and glued to the left and right. But before that, the parts are painted and pasted.

The walls of this box should look as if it were made of irregular stones, like in an old castle. I cut the "stones" for this from egg packaging.

I glue the finished "stones" to the walls of the room with glue.

I paint the floor with acrylic paints. Since it should look like black/white tiles, I first have approx. Four layers of white paint applied and then started to paint the pattern (which can still be clearly seen from the engraving). If you are too difficult for this, please request the file to print out from me.

I 've already revealed that it will be a two-story library. To get to the second floor, you need a staircase.

You can see how the stairs are assembled when you click on the picture.

The detailed work always takes up most of the time, especially miniature books make. However, this is good activity to watch the current favorite serneys on the side.

Cutting the many books was too difficult for me, which is why I went to the hardware store today to finally buy miter scissors. Gertrude, who always has a good tip here in the comments, has often mentioned what you can cut with scissors like this. Absolutely recommended this cool tool! I can now cut the books quickly, easily and precisely.

I can hardly believe how many there have been. What do you think? Write to me HERE! And tip off!

A concrete plan is now in place and the second floor has already been prepared for the laser. Here is a small sneak peak:

The second box is divided in the middle and this is the door that leads into a rear library room.

During such a creative process, things can develop like plan. The stone wall has now become a cassette wall. I only set the stones as accents and are now planning them for the second room.

Then life comes to the booth, the shelf is now decorated with books and other magical things.

The magic books are glued to a wire so that they later fly onto the desk.

An octopus seems to live on the shelf.

He's clearing the drawers here.

And a bookworm has moved in too.

Since I'm still tinkering with the lighting in the background, the second box continues.

The parts have already been cut and put together here for the photo. It is still difficult to see now, there is a shelf on the right and a mirror on the left, which visually lengthens the shelf.

The shelf is now decorated with many small books. One ghost is enough for two of his favorite books and of course a few books flutter in my magic library.

This will be great with light from above. So that you don't see the transition to the mirror so conspicuously, I'll have to think about something else for the floor. If you have an idea, write it right here in the comments.

I think the suggestion that the spiral staircase comes out on the mirror is great, but it didn't work when putting it to the test. I will explain that again later when the boxes are on top of each other. I decided to distract my eyes with small stones. I had already prepared egg cardboard, it is now stuck together.

The stone handicrafts on the steps were too laborious for me, so I carved into the fine cardboard with a cutter.

Then dabbed several layers with different shades of gray (lighter with each layer) with black and white acrylic paint.

Now a bit of distracting decoration and the transition is only noticeable at second glance.

Ceiling lighting was still missing for the first box. I printed a "glass" dome in the 3D printer, which I covered with (nail art) tattoos and sealed with glossy varnish. I glued the dome to a ring made of finnboard and then this construction under the ceiling. I had previously drilled a hole in the ceiling in which I sunk an LED chain of lights after the glue was dry. From this lamp I could only make four more with previous material. If you are interested in it, please contact me quickly.

There are of course a few shelves in the anteroom of the magical library. Old scrolls, country and study maps, old magazines and letters are stored in this one.

This is now the last shelf for this project, now only a few details are missing to complete it. All parts will be available in the shop by the end of the month. In addition, a few other details have been created that have not found a place here but still fit into a library, which you will also find in the shop. I also think that the second room would fit great in a Book Nook.

To connect the two boxes together, I first stuck a narrow strip of finnboard to the edges. This creates space for the electronics and if they are to be separated again, you can simply cut through the cardboard.

I am now concluding this project with the next pictures. If you liked it, leave me a comment!

Thanks for reading and the loving comments.

GlG an alle KatNook Fans da draußen! Gertrude
